As you can see (if you click on the thumbnail above the picture will get larger), I’ve gained a couple of pounds since I last posted with my weight. I am now weighing 217. THE heaviest I have ever been, in my entire life! Continue reading »
I know it’s been a while since I last posted here. Mostly I’ve been avoiding my health and weight issues. I stopped exercising and felt really guilty about it. Of course the guilt just adds weight and keeps me from doing the things that I want to do. It’s a vicious circle that I’d really like to get out of now. I’ve been learning EFT and Reiki, but I’ve stopped doing that too, that is until recently. Continue reading »
insane! Truly this is one of the hardest diets. I’m definitly a Carbaholic, bread, pasta, potatoes… oh my!
But, on the plus side I have been exercising and feeling really good. I even lost 5 pounds! And it’s only been 9 days! Of course I may have totally blown that by eating a Steakhouse Burger and a large order of french fries from Burger King. OOOPS!!
My carb withdrawl was just too much for me to handle any longer. I know, horrible! But, well they say that you should have at least one cheat day a week, well this was my cheat day! I think that will end up making things a little easier for me too, having one day to look forward to some good, yummy, carbolicious carby goodness! yummmmy! LOL!
I was totally insanely craving carbs, I just had to have some bread and potatoes. What have you craved during a diet that you just HAD to have while on your diet? Let me know, let’s commiserate together.

So today is day 8. To be honest, I wasn’t very good at keeping up everything that I wanted to do during the first 8 days. But I’m trying to go with the flow, and forget about what I don’t do, and concentrate on what I WILL do, today! Today I did my upper body work out, which I think I was actually supposed to do that yesterday, but I got all confused, and I wanted to play with my new actually it’s an old, toy. Continue reading »
So really I’m not changing the way I eat that much (i.e. I still had Popeye’s chicken for dinner last night), but I’m eating smaller portions more often, so I”m not that hungry when I eat out. Instead of having 2 or 3 peices of chicken with a large helping of mashed potatos/gravey, red beans & rice and cole slaw, I had ONE peice of chicken and small helpings of the sides. I was still plenty satisfied too! I also had a pack of 100 calorie brownie bites, which is really only about 4 bites of brownie. The packaging is what makes it perfect though. Because you open one pack, you feel like you’ve eaten more and your sweet/chocolate craving is satisfied! For my mid morning/lunch time “meal” I’m having cheese, crakers and summer sausage. Which is delicious!
We’re supposed to eat 6 times a day, which right now isn’t easy to do but that’s because I don’t have everything I’d like to have to eat for snacks and stuff, and I’m still new at this, so I”m giving myself a “warm up” period. I’ll get it all figured out eventually.
I did do my exercising today! I didn’t try to do it first thing in the morning, I waited until my schedule allowed for it. I did 6 different types of upper body weight training, with 0, 2, 3 & 5 lb weights (the 0 lbs was actually me holding nothing in my hands and the 5 lbs was me holding a 2 & 3 lb weight in each hand, but whatever). Now my arms are tired and a little sore! So I must be on the right track! LOL!
So I still have trouble getting out of bed before 7am. But instead of getting upset with myself for not getting up earlier, and then not doing any exercising, I just did the exercises after I did wake up. I feel really good about the fact that I actually did start working out. However, the working out just killed me and I only did 75% of what I was going to do! LOL!
I used Walking away the Pouds, by Leslie Samsone. I did the 1st mile “Get up and Get Started”, and was able to keep going for 15 minutes! Of course my legs are tired and killing me, but I think it’s worth it none the less.
I’ve downloaded and printed out the pages from “Body For Life” website and started filling them out. I need to go grocery shopping and get a bunch of different things to eat. None of the food that is on the list of “authorized” foods is very different from what I’m already eating. Although going out to eat will be only once a week or less. Other than that, the only difference with the food I eat now, and what I will be eating is that it won’t be white flour in bread, tortillas and pasta, it’ll be wheat or other whole grains. I love yogurt, cottage cheese, and fruits and vegies. I”ll still be able to eat meat and some carbs and fats. So basically just a little healthier than I have been, and more often! LOL!
So even though my legs are tired, it was still a great day! I”m glad I wrapped my head around not needing to exercise at a specific time and just exercise when I get up.
